Terms of service
The agreement between you and Zulu when you use zulu.ie.
Last updated 30 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Zulu when you use zulu.ie and the Zulu app. They're written to be read. If anything is unclear, email support@zulu.ie.
Who we are
Zulu is run by [Your full name], a sole trader based in Ireland, at [Your business address], Ireland. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Zulu, and "you" means the person using it and any business you use it for.
You can reach us at support@zulu.ie.
Your account
- You need an account to use Zulu. Give us your real name and an email address you can receive mail at.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract.
- If you use Zulu for a business, you're confirming you're allowed to act for it.
Your business and your team
- Everything in Zulu belongs to a business. You can belong to more than one, and invite other people to yours.
- Owners of a business decide who can access it and what each person can do. You're responsible for the people you invite and the API keys you create.
Plans, trials and payment
- Zulu has a Free plan and paid plans (Pro and Scale). What each includes is shown on our pricing page.
- Every new business gets 30 days of Pro free, without a card. When it ends, the business moves to Free unless you've chosen a paid plan. Nothing is deleted.
- Paid plans are charged in advance, monthly or yearly. Zulu isn't registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to its prices.
- If you choose a paid plan during your free trial, your first payment is on the day the trial would have ended. Until then, changing plan is free and takes effect straight away.
- Moving up (to a bigger plan, or from monthly to yearly billing) takes effect straight away. You're charged that day for the new plan for the rest of your current billing period, less what's left of your old one. If your bank asks you to confirm the payment, the change starts once you have.
- Moving down (to a smaller plan, or from yearly to monthly billing) and cancelling take effect at the end of the period you've paid for. You keep your current plan until then. You can move to Free at any time this way.
- On Scale, users beyond the 10 included are charged from the day they join, on your next monthly bill. Removing a user doesn't refund time already paid for.
- We don't refund or credit unused time, except where the law requires it.
- We may change our prices. We'll tell you at least 30 days before a change affects you, and you can move to another plan before it does.
Your data and your invoices
- What you put into Zulu stays yours: your customers, items, invoices and logo.
- You let us store and process it only to run Zulu for you, for example to create your PDFs and send your emails.
- You're responsible for what your invoices say and for meeting your own tax obligations. Zulu helps you create correct invoices, but it isn't tax or accounting advice.
- Issued invoices can't be deleted, because businesses must keep them for six years. You can void an invoice or issue a credit note instead.
- How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy policy.
Acceptable use
Don't use Zulu to:
- send spam, or email people who haven't done business with you
- break the law, or help anyone else to
- issue false or misleading invoices
- try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours, or disrupt the service
- resell Zulu without our written agreement
Every plan has email limits to protect delivery for everyone. We may pause sending, or suspend an account, if it's being used in a way that harms others or breaks these terms. Where we can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
The service
- We work to keep Zulu available and your data safe, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted.
- We improve Zulu over time. If we remove something important you rely on, we'll tell you in advance.
Closing your account
- You can delete your account or a business from Settings at any time.
- Deleted business data is kept for 30 days in case it was a mistake, then erased. Issued invoices are kept for six years, as the law requires.
- We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms.
Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, or your rights as a consumer under Irish law.
- Otherwise, we aren't liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits, lost business or lost data you could have kept a copy of.
- Our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in that time, or €100 if that's more.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll email account owners at least 30 days before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
Law
These terms are governed by Irish law, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction. If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, you also keep the protections of your own country's law.
